Pointe & Play Podiatry is committed to protecting your privacy and ensuring your child’s information is handled safely, respectfully and in line with Australian law.

  • Medical, developmental and family history relevant to treatment

  • Information about symptoms, gait, movement, footwear and activity

  • Assessment findings and treatment notes

  • Clinical photographs or videos for assessment (with consent)

  • Referral information from other providers

  • Billing details, including NDIS or private health information

 

2. How Information Is Collected

Information is collected directly from:

  • Parents or guardians

  • The child or young person (where appropriate)

  • Other healthcare providers (with consent)

  • Schools or dance teachers (with consent and only when relevant)

 

3. How Information Is Stored

All records are stored electronically in Cliniko, a password-protected and health-compliant Australian practice management system.

Only authorised practitioners and administrative staff may access records. No paper clinical notes are kept. Any paper documents are scanned and securely destroyed.

We may use internal software tools to assist with documentation. These do not share identifiable patient information outside the clinic.

 

4. How Information Is Used

Information may be used to:

  • Provide podiatry assessment and treatment

  • Plan ongoing care

  • Monitor progress

  • Prepare reports, letters or referrals

  • Communicate with other health professionals involved in care

  • Manage appointments, billing and administration

We do not use information for advertising or marketing without explicit consent.

 

5. Sharing Information

Information is shared only:

  • With your consent

  • When necessary to support your child’s care

  • When required by law or child safety obligations

We may communicate with:

  • GP or paediatrician

  • Allied health providers

  • Schools or dance teachers (where appropriate)

  • Orthotists or specialists

  • NDIS support coordinators or plan managers

 

6. Telehealth and Digital Communication

If telehealth is used, the same privacy protections apply. Parents are responsible for ensuring privacy on their side during the session.

We may use SMS or email to send appointment reminders, reports or clinical information with your consent.

 

7. Accessing Your Records

Parents or guardians may request access to their child’s record at any time. Corrections can be made where information is incomplete or inaccurate.
